Types of Fasting
There are basically 3 types of fasting.
1. Intermittent Fasting
Our body has 2 phases. One is the building phase and another is the elimination phase. During the elimination phase, if we consume food then all the toxins get accumulated in our body.
In intermittent fasting, we do fasting for 12-16 hours. Some people do it for 20 hours. While doing this you only have to drink water and avoid taking foods and liquids. After complete fasting, you have to shift to your regular diet.
If you are a beginner then you can start fasting for 10 hours. When you feel comfortable then you can increase the fasting time period.
You can do intermittent fasting once for 7 days or 10 days. Don’t take heavy meal after fasting. If you avoid junk food for 24 hours after fasting, it will much better.
The best way to do intermittent fasting is to do fasting for 3 days in a row. After 10 days you can repeat it again.
2. Water Fasting
In water fasting, you have to do fasting for 24 hours. You can only take water during this fasting. You shouldn’t take any solid food, coffee, juices or any other things.
During this fasting, you have to consume at least 3-4 liters of water. After 24 hours you have to break this fasting slowly like you can take one fruit or one glass of lemon juice. Then after some time, you can take your regular meal.
You can do it once for 15-30 days.
3. Dry Fasting
In Dry Fasting, you have to avoid everything for 24 hours. You can do it once every month.
Benefits of Fasting
During fasting, our body gets time to eliminate toxins.
Illness is cured faster during fasting. Our body uses lots of energy to digest what we eat. So that extra energy helps to prevent illness faster.
If hormones are imbalanced, then they get balanced.
Bodies’ immune system becomes stronger. Inflammation decreases.
Fat loss happens, which helps to lose weight.
During fasting, stress and anxiety level decreases.
